Italy (W) European Beach-champions!
The Italien ladies won the gold medals in the 6th European Beach Handball Championship after a thriller of a final match against Norway. Italy won the first set, Norway the second. The Shoot Out ended 4-4, but Italy scored in their first attempt of Golden Goal shoot-outs and Norway missed. Italy is this years European Beach-Champions!
With 2 500 spectators around the arena and a lot of people that did not come inside (no places left...!) it was a tremendous feeling being on the Center Court.
Italy was in the lead most of the first period. At the end Italy had 17, Norway 16. In the second period Norway started best, and, even if the italian girls fightet well, it ended with 16 for Norway and 15 for Italy. *
In the Shoot Out the Italian and Norwegian goalkeepers played extremely well - five attempts for each team resultged only in two goals for each (4 points each). Italy at least won 6-4 and we ca gi ve them our best congratulations as new Beach-Champions!
